Our new label this month is Cameo Classics. Established in 1973, they now concentrate on recording the works of neglected British and Jewish German composers. To date, the label has premiered 108 compositions and new recordings are always in the pipeline.

Frank Almond, an Avie Records artist, is thankful to have had his £3m Lipinski Stradivarius violin recovered by Milwaukee police. It was stolen from him after a concert in late January in an armed street robbery.

The Russian cellist Alexander Ivashkin has sadly died aged 65. He was particularly renowned for his performances of Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Schnittke whose works he has recorded with Chandos Records.

Voting for the 2014 BBC Music Magazine Awards has closed. The winners will be announced later on in the year.
